New winery for me, and nice label design too. I’m guessing bowerbird is a reference to picking out parcels of grapes from here and there, and bringing them back to the nest to be turned into wine. I could be wrong.
I liked this straight away, because it’s not simply fruity and overt, but falls to more saline and nutty, with a light chalky texture, some stonefruit, but tangerine and ginger too, freshness with weight, and an umami finish of excellent length. It’s excellent. And kind of Italianate in a way, but don’t mind me. 93pts GARY WALSH, www.winefront.com.au
