65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and Vaccarese. De-stemmed, macerated on skins for more than 4 weeks and fermented in cement. The Grenache is then aged in large foudres and blended with the other varieties before bottling without fining or filtering.
‘Vivid ruby. Sexy, expansive aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, smoky minerals and candied flowers pick up a spicy topnote with air. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and boysenberry flavors firmed by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows excellent clarity and floral-driven thrust on the impressively long finish, which is framed by supple, harmonious tannins.’ (91-93) points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous, July 2018.
'Potpourri and dried Provençale herbs on the nose. In the mouth it is rounded, immediately juicy and intense, but piercingly fresh. A pâté de fruit, red and black fruit character on the palate is accompanied by very fine but ample tannins. It's intense but lifted, structured, complete and harmonious. Very long and well balanced. All you could want in a classically-styled yet contemporary Châteauneuf. 'Pure' not available to taste this year.' 94pts MATT WALLS, Decanter Magazine UK
