Grown at the Mawson Road Vineyard in Lenswood at 560m elevation on a steep south-facing aspect. Planted to the 777, 114, 115 and MV6 clones on sandy loam over clay. Good winter rains preceded average spring temperatures and a hot January. Volatile temperature swings from mid-February delivered a later than expected vintage. Hand-picked on 9 and 12 March, wild yeast fermented in open fermenter and closed puncheons, 61% whole bunch, matured for 11 months in French oak (35% new).
