Kate Goodman is onto a good thing with this new Nikkal range. It looks right. It tastes right. It’s priced right. The bottle image doesn’t really do it justice but the label design is striking, in a good way.
You’d call this chardonnay pristine. It’s not a fabulous wine but it’s well flavoured and textured, has enough complexity to keep you interested, embraces its variety with its grapefruit-and-white-peach flavour, and while kissed with spicy oak it’s just a passing flash. Nicely done. 91pts Campbell Mattinson, www.winefront.com.au
