"A blend of La Morra and Castiglione Falletto. I’ve quite a bit more 2015 Barolo to get through, so best make a start. This is a new import for Mondo.
Floral, sweet tobacco, dark cherry, mint and spices. It has flesh and power, freshness, red fruit and new leather flavours, and firm chalky tannin lending grip. Acidity is very ‘mineral’, and it finishes with excellent length and persistence. It’s a pretty serious affair for an entry level Barolo, and I very much like its earthy/savoury character. If feels uncompromising and old school, in a good way." 94pts GARY WALSH, www.winefront.com.au
"A blend of fruit from Chiesa, Capalot and Fiasco, Oddero's 2015 Barolo is vibrant, expressive and wonderfully inviting. Bright acids and lifted, floral notes lend a real sense of energy to this crystalline, super-finessed entry-level Barolo from Oddero. Translucent and weightless in the glass, but with good tannic grip, the 2015 has a ton to offer. This is a such gorgeous Barolo." 92pts ANTONIO GALLONI, www.vinous.com
"This is a blend of three vineyard sites: Bricco Chiesa, Capalot (both in La Morra), and Fiasco (in Castiglione Falletto). This was a warm and dry summer by all accounts, but there is no evidence of jammy flavors here because the roots had access to good water reserves. The 2015 Barolo is a generous and accessible wine with lots of dark fruit and soft, succulent fruit flavors. Its signature leather and tobacco notes will likely develop with time. This "classico" Barolo is always a good match for red meat." 93+pts MONICA LARNER, Wine Advocate
